The Shooter’s Approach To Practice

Sam’s Best selling book. The ORGINAL book on how to practice. Inside you get a review of the fundamentals. Why the fundamentals, because they are THAT IMPORTANT. First you learn to shoot, THAN you learn to shoot FAST. After the fundamentals you get a six week training schedule. This schedule is based on a three session per week system. Most shooter go to practice with little or no plan. There are many shooters that go to the range, set up a 28 round field course, shoot it three to six times, change a few targets around and shoot it again. What is learned in this session?? My bet is, not much. How long did it take you to transition from target 3 to target 4?

What is the time of your first shot from the holster at 7 yards with an “A” hit? For example sake it is 2.25 seconds. A Master or High A Class Shooter normally can do this in 1.25 for example sake only. Well you are already behind that shooter by one second on EVERY STAGE. With my book you can work on just the draw. In a simple to use format my book walks you through the five important areas you need to work on to be a successful shooter. We have over 30 drill to work on the following areas, to include the fundamentals. Draw, Reloads, Target Transitions, Fixing Malfunctions and Movement. To go along with those five we also discuss working with Props; Doors, Tables, Ports, all heights, Barricades and Chairs. We even have Standards. YUCK Like Andy Stanford, Former USPSA President, once said “Standards are like Lima Beans , they are good for you but no one like them”. Standards are an accurate representation of your shooting ability. If you can get through “Hardball’s Too Tough Standards” you are on your way. Easy to read and fits In the range bag, right next to the rule book. PRACTICE HARD, STAY SAFE.
